Mentor Distribution is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, contractors, visitors, and partners. We recognise our responsibilities under UK health and safety legislation and aim to conduct our operations in a way that safeguards people, property, and the wider public.

This policy outlines our approach to health & safety and regulatory compliance, proportionate to the nature and scale of our business as a B2B technology distributor operating in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

 

Our Commitment

Mentor Distribution aims to:

  • Comply with all applicable health & safety laws, regulations, and recognised best practices in the UK and Ireland

  • Maintain internal processes designed to manage health & safety risks

  • Promote a culture of health, safety, and regulatory responsibility throughout our organisation

  • Take reasonable steps to prevent accidents, incidents, and work-related ill health


Responsible Authorities

We acknowledge and take into account the key health & safety regulatory authorities relevant to our operations:

United Kingdom

  • Health and Safety Executive (HSE) — responsible for enforcing workplace health & safety legislation across Great Britain

  • Local Authorities — responsible in certain sectors such as offices and retail environments

Republic of Ireland

  • Health and Safety Authority (HSA) — the national regulator responsible for the administration and enforcement of health & safety law in the Republic of Ireland

Mentor Distribution respects the guidance, codes of practice, and requirements issued by these authorities and strives to align our practices accordingly.


Health & Safety Management

Mentor Distribution maintains internal procedures appropriate to our operations. These may include:

  • Risk awareness relevant to office-based, showroom, warehouse, logistics, and on-site activities

  • Safe working practices for employees and contractors

  • Incident and near-miss reporting procedures

  • Periodic review of internal practices to support ongoing improvement

Employees are expected to take reasonable care for their own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions.


Regulatory Compliance

Mentor Distribution is committed to operating in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations applicable to our business, including:

  • UK Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and subordinate regulations

  • Relevant UK Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations

  • Irish Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and related statutory instruments

  • Other applicable regulatory requirements in either jurisdiction related to workplace safety, fire safety, manual handling, and accident reporting

Where required, we work with qualified partners, contractors, and service providers to ensure compliance is maintained in both the UK and Ireland.


Contractors, Visitors & Partners

We expect contractors, service providers, and partners engaged by Mentor Distribution to operate in a safe and responsible manner and to comply with the relevant health & safety laws and regulations applicable to their activities in the UK or Ireland.


Continuous Improvement

Mentor Distribution is committed to the ongoing review and proportionate improvement of health and safety practices, taking into account changes in legislation, HSE guidance, industry best practice, and business operations.
